HIGH SCHOOLERS
If a lead discloses they are a high school junior or senior, continue the conversation up until the point of scheduling. Use the script below to offer the choice of scheduling the virtual meeting now or scheduling a call back closer to graduation.
Thank you so much for answering those questions for me! Before you apply for admissions, we do require a meeting with our Admission Counselors. During this meeting, we’ll learn more about your needs and show you the campus. They’ll also go over information I’m sure you’re curious about, like start dates, schedules, financial aid, and tuition! Since you have a bit until graduation, you have a couple of options. We can absolutely get you scheduled now, just so you’ll know what you’d be stepping into after graduation. Or, if you’d prefer, we can agree on a time a bit closer to graduation to check-in and touch base about your interest. What feels best for you?
If the lead wants to get scheduled now, make sure to mark as “HS.” If the lead wants to wait until closer to graduation, schedule a call back for the desired date through their Salesforce page.
FELONY
As a school policy, Aveda does not accept students with any current or pending felony charges on their criminal record. If a lead discloses they have a felony, ask them what the timeline of expungement looks like. If the expungement date is greater than 6 months, schedule a call back for the time of the expected removal and make sure to notate this in the call notes. If the lead is unsure or unable to get the felony expunged, you can use this script.
Unfortunately, our school policy doesn’t allow for admission of any students who have a pending or current felony on their criminal record. My recommendation would be to reach out to the (INSERT STATE) Cosmetology State Board, as they should be able to help you in your search for a school that holds a different policy. Their number is (INSERT NUMBER). Have a great rest of your day!
Make sure to mark their page as “Disqualified – Felony.”
